Frequently Asked Questions

Squarespace

  • Squarespace is the holy grail for anyone who wants a beautiful, professional website without drowning in code. It’s perfect for creatives, service providers, small biz owners, you name it. With built-in features like blogging, emails, e-commerce, and SEO tools, plus an intuitive drag-and-drop editor, it’s basically your digital BFF. I design exclusively with Squarespace because it just works - visually, functionally, and strategically.

It’s also an all-in-one platform, so it will do everything you need it to do, from managing domains and hosting to setting up a mailing list and selling, which is perfect for business owners that want to keep things as simple and straightforward as possible.

  • Squarespace pricing is actually really reasonable, especially when you consider everything that comes with it. Plans typically start around £12/month (billed annually) for a Personal site, and go up to £35/month for the top-tier Commerce plan. Most of my clients land somewhere in the middle with the Business plan at £17/month. It includes marketing tools like pop-up windows, analytics, and the ability to sell digital and pysical online.

  • Yes. Squarespace is made for selling products, whether it’s physical products, digital downloads, services, or subscriptions. You can manage inventory, set up shipping, offer discounts, take payments (hello, Stripe and PayPal), and even handle tax stuff.

  • Yes. Hosting is included in all Squarespace plans, which means no dealing with third-party hosting nightmares. Your website lives on secure, reliable, high-speed servers, so you don’t need to lift a techy finger. It’s all-in-one and super simple, just how we like it.

  • Yes. Whether you bought your domain through Squarespace or elsewhere like GoDaddy or Google Domains, you can easily connect it to your Squarespace site.

Pro tip: if you're buying a new domain, it’s easiest to get the domain directly through Squarespace, then everything is all under one roof.

I can manage all of this for you if we work together.

  • Although I’m based in the UK, I work with clients worldwide. Everything is done online and via Google Meet video chat, so it’s really easy to manage.

  • Short answer: yes. Long answer: Squarespace comes with a lot of built-in SEO goodness - things like clean code, mobile-friendly design, SSL security, and customisable meta titles and descriptions. That said, good SEO still requires good strategy. I optimise every website I design for Google and AI, but I also teach my clients how to keep climbing those rankings.

  • Yep, it’s one of the easiest platforms out there. You don’t need to know how to code to update your website, swap out photos, or tweak your copy. It’s a really simple drag and drop editor. The backend is clean and intuitive, and once I hand things over and give you a full ‘how-to’ lesson, you’ll feel confident managing it all yourself. If you can use Canva, you can Squarespace. Trust me.

  • If you want a website that’s not just pretty, but strategic too, then yes. DIY can get you started, but a professional designer knows how to create a user experience that converts, showcases your brand like a pro, and keeps visitors on your site. Plus, you save yourself hours (or weeks) of time and stress. So yes, hiring someone like me? Totally worth it.

  • Yes! All Squarespace websites are fully responsive, which means they can be setup to look great on mobile, tablet and desktop. No pinching or awkward zooming required. And since more than half your visitors are scrolling on their phones, that mobile layout matters now more than ever.

2-Day launch websites

  • Yes. Thanks to my carefully crafted foundational designs, my 20+ years website experience and a 2-Day Launch process that has been refined and developed to perfection, two days is all we need.

The only thing that is likely to extend this timeline by a day or two, is if you want to add a shop or extra pages over and above the 5 that are included.

  • Absolutely not. Although your website is starting life as one of the foundational designs, the end result will be completely and uniquely you. More often than not, we’re removing sections, adding sections in and reworking the layout to suit your business and your needs. Not to mention adding in your colours, your fonts, your images and all of the content that makes your businesses yours.

The purpose of the foundational design is just to give us a starting point. To strip out the need for designing from scratch and all of the time and extra costs that come with that. We have a base to work from and we can reimagine each one in hundreds of different ways.

  • Yes. You will need to send me your branding, copy, photography and content at least 7 days before your build date (I will send you a guide that outlines exactly what you need to send me and when). This will give me a chance to review everything and get back to you if I think anything is missing or needs tweaking.

I work with an amazing copywriter and brand designer if you need some help with those areas. Just let me know and I can put you in touch.

  • All of my clients get access to my copywriting guide. It outlines what copy you should include on each page, how to write copy that sells and guidance on finding your own voice.

If you would prefer someone else to write your copy, I work with an amazing copywriter who can translate everything you want to say into beautifully written copy that’s infused with your personality and speaks directly to your target audience.

Just let me know and I can put you in touch.

  • Yes. In fact, I will handle this for you, so you don’t need to worry about how that works.

Pro tip: If you're buying a new domain, I recommend you buy the domain directly through Squarespace, then everything is all under one roof. I can get this setup for you.

  • 100%. This is exactly why I use Squarespace. Once your website is up and running, it’s so simple and easy to use.

I have lost count of the number of clients that have some to me because they haven’t been able to update their website since it was launched 5 years ago.

I don’t want this for my clients. Running a small business is hard work enough, without adding website related headaches on top too.

I pride myself on building websites that are easy to use, empowering my clients to make edits themselves, so that their website is always fresh and up to date.

Once your website is launched, you’ll get a personalised walkthrough video that talks you through everything you’ll need to know to update your website.

  • If you are selling physical or digital products, I can set up a shop for an additional cost:

    £450 - Max. 5 products
    £600 - Max. 10 products

I will then create a walk-through video guide that shows you how to manage your shop and add additional products, should you need to.

Please note: Adding a shop will extend the build timeline by at least 1 day.

  • Your website includes 5 pages. If you want to add additional pages, there will be an extra cost:

    • Additional standard pages | £150 per page

    • Extensive sales pages | £260 per page

If you’ve got a bigger project in mind, we can chat about add-ons or a custom package.

Get in touch and tell me what you need.

  • We’ve packed a LOT into your 2-Day Launch package, however there are some things that aren’t included:

    • Copywriting (this can be added on)

    • Brand design (this can be added on)

    • Proofreading

    • Logo design

    • Colour palette creation

    • Complex integrations

  • Nope! We’ll have a 60-minute Zoom call to kick things off and then I’ll be doing the heavy lifting behind the scenes. You’ll just be on standby for check-ins and feedback.

Website SOS Day

  • It’s a full day of my time, dedicated to your Squarespace website. I focus on your priority fixes, updates, and design tweaks so that your website feels polished and ready to show off. You have my undivided attention for 5 hours (plus an hour long strategy call), so hit me with your to-do list and let’s get it done.

  • A lot. With my refined processes and 20+ years experience, we’ll make major progress, but the exact amount depends on how prepared you are beforehand and how quickly you respond to feedback requests during the day.

  • Yes. You’ll need to be available to respond quickly when I send updates or questions so that we can keep the momentum going. This can be via email, WhatsApp or Instagram DM.

  • Prep is key. If you’re not ready, the day won’t be as productive or you may end up losing your Website SOS day and forfeiting your deposit. I recommend choosing a date that gives you plenty of time to gather your copy, images and priorities. I will help you plan out exactly what you need to get ready.

  • The Website SOS Day is 5 hours long. This isn’t enough time to build a website from scratch (or at least a website that’s worth having). Nor is it enough time to completely redesign. an existing website.

If you think you need a brand new website, The 2-Day Launch is for you.

Not sure what you need? Book a website call with me and we’ll talk it through together.

  • Before your Website SOS day, we’ll have a strategy call together and plan exactly what we’re going to do and what your main priorities are. If, during this call, I think we will need more time to work through your list, I will let you know.

  • Nope, I’m a Squarespace specialist. If your site is on Wix, WordPress, or anything else, this isn’t the right fit.

  • Once you’ve scheduled your SOS day, you’ll receive 2 emails from me: an email confirming your day is booked in and a welcome email with instructions for your prep work and a link to schedule our strategy call.

General

  • I don’t offer formal payment plans, but for both the 2-Day Launch and Website SOS Day, you can split the payment in two. 50% at booking and 50% when we are ready to do the work.

  • The sooner you get in touch, the sooner we can work together. For The 2-Day Launch websites, these are usually booked in 4-6 weeks ahead.

For the Website SOS Day, I would recommend booking at least 2 weeks ahead, just to give you time to prepare your content and anything else you will need to send over to me.

  • I no longer formally offer bespoke websites, as I don’t believe most small business owners need a bespoke website in order to succeed, but I do know that for some of you, a bespoke website is preferred. So if this is something you want to explore, I’d love to have a chat about it.

Bespoke websites start at £4000. A formal, no obligation quote will be provided once we’ve discussed your project in more detail.

Complete the contact form and let’s have a chat about it.

  • I am based in Staffordshire in the UK, but I work with clients across the UK and worldwide. We mostly communicate via video chat, quick messages and voice notes.

  • Of course. Book a website chat with me and we can talk through where you’re at and figure out the next best move for your business.
