Client Story
Happy Hippi Social Media
Rach is a social media manager, working with small business owners as well as big brands in the food, lifestyle and wellbeing industries. She also runs a hugely successful local networking group for female freelancers and founders.
When Rach came to me, she had a DIY Wix website that had served her well for a number of years, but no longer reflected where her business was at and where it was going. She had a really cool, professionally deisgned brand kit but wasn’t using it to it’s full potential. Everything just needed elevating.
We ended up doing loads of work around her target audience, how she wanted to grow her business and how this is fit in with her new website. The end result far surpassed what she even knew was possible for her business and changed everything about how she worked.
Words from Rach
Before working with Jen, what was your website like – and how did it make you feel about your business?
I had built my own really simple Wix website when I first started my business 8 years ago, had a re-brand in 2022 and just overlaid the new branding but it just wasn't reflecting what I actually do properly and actually gave me the ick when people said they'd been on it. It wasn't clear which brands I'd worked with previously and the whole thing just felt like a holding space.
What made you choose to work with Jen over other designers or doing it yourself?
I met Jen through our Female freelancers and founders network and we hit it right off, shared a sense of humour and both "got it" when it came to business running around our families. I naturally stalked her website and socials and loved what I found. I'd done absolutely fine in my biz with my DIY website but it was in desperate need of a glow up and I wanted a site that elevated my brand, my work and made me feel proud when I knew people had been for a nosey.
What made you take the step to invest in the process of a new website?
I'd had a rebrand and it was the next step to feeling like my brand reflected me properly. I just knew Jen would get the kind of vibe I wanted. I knew a bespoke website would mean we'd really be able to get into the detail of what I needed.
What surprised you most about the process of working together?
When we first met , I realised this process wasn't just about the website, it ended up being about my business as a whole, we spend AGES chatting about who I was ACTUALLY targeting and what my goals were, it genuinely made me re-evaluate certain elements of my business that I'd been planning to grow, but actually weren't profitable/enjoyable. We looked at how the site was actually targeted at 3 different sets of people and the site was designed accordingly.
What’s changed since launching your new website? How has it benefited your business?
Jen genuinely made me realise that I needed to talk up certain elements of my business and shout about the brands I've worked with A LOT MORE, something my old site just didn't do - it was super hidden. I've learnt to celebrate own my achievements & "show off" a lot more in my content and it's paying off. I've landed 2 new large brands since launching the site. The way Jen convinced me and has designed the site communicates me as the real me, but has also elevated how my brand feels, and who I work with and it's paying off!
If someone’s on the fence about investing in their website, what would you want them to know?
Do it! I've had so many awesome comments about my new website and it's converted into leads and new projects with brands I want to be working with. Highly recommend Jen, she goes above and beyond to get it right.
